The Industrial First-Aid Protocol requires immediate medical referral when any red-flag symptom is present: severe or worsening pain, visible deformity, suspected fracture, neurological symptoms (numbness, tingling, weakness), radiating pain, open wound, significant loss of function, head injury, chest pain, or any worsening symptom following a prior session. Operators stop the session immediately and refer for medical evaluation.

Trained, certified operators — typically Health and Safety Managers, certified Athletic Trainers, or ReGen-certified operators. Per 29 C.F.R. § 1904.7(b)(5)(iv), the professional status of the operator does not affect the first-aid classification of soft-tissue care.
